K-Celebrities in Hollywood Films

These K-Actors are now on the Hollywood scene! The talent and prowess of Korean actors are now recognized by the western audience! Here are some of the Korean stars who already made their debut and will soon fly for the Hollywood dream.

ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo 

On July 1, Korean media outlets reported that Cha Eun Woo was in talks to play the lead in the new Hollywood film, and cleared his schedule for the second half of 2022 for filming. If he confirms his casting, Cha Eun Woo will join Hollywood stars Rebel Wilson and Charles Melton for “K-Pop: Lost In America.”

Son Suk Ku 

He previously starred in Netflix’s joyously transgressive science fiction odyssey, “Sense 8,” alongside Doona Bae and Hollywood stars such as Aml Ameen and Jamie Clayton. 

Lee Byung Hun

In 2009, Lee Byung Hun appeared as Storm Shadow in “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra,” marking his Hollywood debut. He then signed on for “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation,” which was released in 2013.

Don Lee / Ma Dong Seok

In 2019, Don Lee (aka, Ma Dong Seok) made his Hollywood debut with Marvel’s “Eternals” as the strongest Eternal Gilgamesh. Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and Richard Madden are some of the big stars he joined in this film.

Doona Bae

Aside from domestic success, Doona Bae is one of the first actresses who make it to Hollywood. She debuted as Sonmi-451 in a 2012 movie, “Cloud Atlas.” She will be making her Hollywood comeback through Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi movie, “Rebel Moon,” with huge movie stars, including Sofia Boutella. Jena Malone, Staz Nair.

Yoo Teo

Yoo Teo who starred in “Vagabond” and “Money Game,” will be starring as the lead in the upcoming film “Past Lives,” which will be produced by the same company behind “Minari” and “Moonlight.” Aside from the Hollywood debut, Yoo Teo will be starring alongside Greta Lee from Netflix’s “Russian Doll” and the film “Sisters.”

Park Seo Joon 

It was reported in September 2022 that Park Seo Joon left South Korea to start filming for Marvel Studios’ new superhero film, a sequel to Captain Marvel (2019), The Marvels. However, his agency refused to provide other details such as the character’s name or his filming schedule and location.
