There are a lot of people who landed jobs that have nothing to do with their college degrees. Korean celebrities are not an exception. There are several stars who show off their abilities even without majoring in acting, singing, or comedy.

Lee Seung Gi
Lee Seung Gi graduated from Dongguk University with International Trade & Business degree. He is now taking a master’s degree course, faithfully combining singer/actor activities and studies. He’s currently taking up a master’s degree in cultural content at the Graduate School of Visual Arts.
Uhm Ji Won
Uhm Ji Won is a graduate of Kyungpook National University with a Geography degree. Far from her degree, she pursued acting in the late 1990s and up until today, she’s participating in several dramas and movies.
Jin Ki Joo
Before becoming an actress, Jin Ki Joo finished her studies at Chung-Ang University. She is a Computer Science & Engineering graduate and also worked as an IT employee and reporter at a large company.
Jang Dong Yoon
It’s widely known in the industry how Jang Dong Yoon got cast as an actor. He became known when he was still a student and helped stopped the robbery at a convenience store. He was commended by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency for his act of heroism and became popular. This led him to several casting offers. The actor is an Economic & Finance graduate of Hanyang University.

Sojin is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Yeungnam University. She realized her dream of becoming a singer after joining band club activities. She made her debut as part of the idol group Girl’s Day at the age of 25. She is now active as an actress.
Baek Jong Won
THE Baek Jong Won is actually a Social Welfare degree holder from Yonsei University. After graduating, he started a ssambap restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul and the rest is history. He is now a famous culinary researcher, businessman, and tv personality.

He came from three generations of Christians and his mother also recommended him to study Christianity. He fell in love with hip-hop music and pursued it instead of his degree.
