Koreans Praise Super Junior’s Postponement of Manila Show

The Manila leg of Super Junior’s World Tour – Super Show 9 was postponed after Eunhyuk and Siwon can no longer participate with the group. Siwon tested positive for COVID-19 a few days before flying to Manila while Eunhyuk’s father’s passing came as the members of the group were departing from South Korea heading to the Philippines.

Korean netizens have nothing but praises for the members’ decision to postpone the concert in the Philippines. The members insisted on showing up on stage to meet and greet the fans who showed up despite the same day’s notice of postponement. Many netizens across multiple online communities shared their thoughts about the show.

Some comments are: “They could’ve canceled the concert, but instead, they still sang songs in front of the fans and they didn’t cancel but rescheduled it… If I were a Super Junior fan, I would’ve cried.”

“They’re seriously going above and beyond. There’s a reason why they lasted this long”

They still changed outfits and sang some of their ballads. They’re seriously the best of the best when it comes to treating their fans.” “This is the right decision, I don’t think the fans will enjoy the show.”

“That’s the right thing to do. They have so much experience and it’s not like it’s a trivial reason either. We’re talking about family here. The fans won’t be able to enjoy the show anyways.”

The rescheduled concert date is yet to be announced by the local organizers. Tickets purchased for the August 6 show will be valid for the rescheduled date.
