K-Pop Groups Who Made Their Comeback After More Than A Year

Most K-Pop artists release their music frequently. Groups especially are very active, with 2-3 comebacks in a year followed by a world tour, a common formula for the well-known K-Pop artists. However, not every fandom is blessed with a frequent comeback and tour from their idols. Here are some of the K-Pop artists who returned with new music after more than a year.

WINNER

Winner released “Remember” as their third studio album in 2020. After two years, the group came back as a whole group with a mini-album “Holiday.” Members, Kim Jinwoo and Lee Seunghun have already served in the military during the two years of no release.

BIGBANG

Despite the legendary status of the group, they only have three full studio albums under their name. It took BIGBANG three years to comeback with “MADE” in 2016 and eight years to follow up their second full-length Korean album, “Remember.” During the years of no release as a group, its members released solos and formed sub-units.

Girls’ Generation

One of the most anticipated comebacks in 2022, Girls’ Generation is set to release a new album after their sixth studio album “Holiday Night” in 2017. This will be their first comeback with all eight members in five years. The girls have pursued their solo careers as singers and actresses during their absence as a group.

BLACKPINK

Announced in July 2022, YG Entertainment confirms the return of the girl group after one year and 10 months since they released their first studio-length album “THE ALBUM” in 2020. The girls are currently in the final stages of recording their new album and will start shooting their music video in July. BLACKPINK is set to release its new music in August.
