K-Pop Idols Who Were Rejected by JYP Entertainment

The K-Pop industry is known for its fierce competition and rigorous training, where aspiring artists dedicate years to perfecting their skills in the hopes of debuting under one of the prestigious entertainment agencies. JYP Entertainment, one of the “Big Three” agencies in South Korea, has nurtured numerous successful idols. However, not all aspiring stars who audition for JYP Entertainment are accepted into the company. They’ve endured it all! Here are some of today’s biggest idols who were rejected by JYP Entertainment.

BTS J-Hope

J-Hope auditioned at JYP Entertainment in 2009 but was rejected. He was then accepted by Big Hit Entertainment and became a trainee.

BTOB Sungjae

According to Sungjae, he participated in the sixth open auditions, and unfortunately, he was eliminated in the final round. He shared that it was his first and last audition.

EXO Xiumin

Xiumin was also one of the famous idols who got rejected by JYP. He was dropped out and then accepted by SM Entertainment.

IU

The nation’s little sister auditioned for the entertainment several times but got rejected. In 2011, JYP jokingly said in an interview that he was going to find the staff who rejected IU.
